Perceptions of technology in education during the COVID-19 pandemic: The views of student teachers specializing in ICT

This study aimed to analyze the perceptions of teacher training students, specializing in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), in relation to digital technology during the COVID-19 crisis. To do so, forty-three asynchronous interviews, based on an open-ended question, were carried out with students undertaking the Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education Teaching at the Universitat de València and specializing in ICT, during strict home confinement. Institutions and educators are massively and uncritically integrating digital curricular materials in their teaching praxis. This article aims to uncover whether health and fitness APP images convey or legitimize stereotypes linked to bodies, focusing on gender, race, somatotype and physical activity practice. We also analyse whether these apps are adequate for the recommended age or whether they are designed by physical education professionals. For that purpose, we designed a descriptive, comparative study based on content analysis on a sample of 373 images from 128 apps selected through a PRISMA review and a pilot test. La formación digital tecnocéntrica del profesorado y el uso tradicional de las tecnologías de la información y de la comunicación (TIC), muestran la debilidad del discurso pedagógico frente al tecnológico, confirmando la limitada intencionalidad didáctica de los docentes al usar dichas tecnologías. En educación física se carece de instrumentos específicos para estudiar esa realidad. Moodle es el sistema de gestión de aprendizaje más utilizado en Europa. Dentro de esta plataforma, así como en otras como Blackboard, Canvas y Brightspace, está disponible un nuevo contenido llamado H5P (abreviatura de paquete HTML5).
